This profile can be a place where you showcase work you are passionate about by sharing articles you’ve read that inspired you. You can also use this space to thank your mentors, celebrate your friend’s milestones, and showcase your resume online. Strengthen your professional brand

LinkedIn is a great place to do this, but it is also great to attend industry specific conferences and events to meet professionals in your field. Not only will you learn more about your industry, but you never know when the people you meet there could help you later.

Mentors can provide helpful feedback, share information including job postings they think you might enjoy, and are often great accountability partners as well. Sometimes you just need a little extra support, especially during a job search. An extra set of sharp eyes is always of benefit.

I always say, the difference between networking and NOT working is one letter. Those professional conferences we spoke about earlier can be a great place to network and accomplish two things at one time. Again, it demonstrates your professionalism.

If you have reviewed several job postings and noticed the majority of them list certifications you may not have yet, perhaps it’s time to explore that certification. It’s never too late to learn something new. There are many low cost or no cost resources available to you.
